The Laboratory Technician position will be in the Refining Analytical and Development organization located in Catlettsburg, KY. This position will support refineries and terminals by performing routine analytical testing of hydrocarbon samples, including crude oil. The position may require overtime and evening or weekend coverage.
Follow all applicable safety procedures.
Operate and maintain various analytical instruments used to support the daily operation of the lab.
Perform analytical testing with strict adherence to standard operating procedures, generating highly accurate, timely, and defensible results.
Communicate effectively with customers.
Adhere to laboratory quality control protocols.
Maintain good housekeeping.
Demonstrate ethics and integrity in all aspects of the job.
Weekend coverage and shiftwork required.
Overtime can be expected.
Minimum (Required) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or science equivalent with at least 20 hours of chemistry.
Must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant analytical techniques is desired.
Basic understanding of SQC techniques.
Familiarization with LIMS.
Good mechanical skills are needed.
