SUMMARY

Administers environmental programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Coordinates monitoring, data analysis, recordkeeping, and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interprets applicable regulations and maintains policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

  • Prepares reports, plans and permits required to comply with environmental regulations. Oversees monitoring, recordkeeping, and data collection. Performs calculations required for reporting.

  • Develops and implements compliance programs.

  • Performs environmental audits and field inspections. Leads EPA and other regulatory agency inspections and information requests. Recommends changes in refinery operations to ensure compliance.

  • Provides technical guidance to refining and logistics departments to ensure environmental compliance. Supervise monitoring and repair crews, ensuring that Marathon’s policies and procedures are followed in the field.

  • Participates in Corporate environmental network and stays current on changes to environmental requirements.

  • Serves as a member of 24/7 Emergency Response Team and/or Oil Spill Response Team.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in science or related field required.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ progressive environmental experience in a petroleum or related industry required.
